Attorney Walter Gewin is a native of Mobile, Alabama. After graduation from law school, Walter clerked for Circuit Court Judge John Lockett before pursuing a career in the private practice of law. Initially, practicing a wide variety of law; Walter’s practice has become more focused on family law, including juvenile, probate, and domestic relations matters. Walter also currently serves as a certified Guardian Ad Litem in Dependency, Delinquency, and Domestic Relations matters.
Walter graduated from UMS-Wright Preparatory School in Mobile. After high school, he attended the University of Alabama where he graduated in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in General Business. Walter attended law school at Samford University, Cumberland School of Law from 2010 to 2013. While in law school, Walter interned for a Plaintiff’s firm in Mobile in the summers during law school, participated in Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and completed an externship with the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Walter earned his J.D. degree from Cumberland in May 2013 and was admitted to the Alabama bar in September 2013.
Additionally, Walter is active in in the community and currently serves on the service council at St. Ignatius Church in Mobile.
In 2018 and 2019, Walter was among finalists for the “Nappie” award by Lagniappe Weekly as the readers’ choice for Best Criminal Attorney.
When not in court or working, Walter enjoys being by the water, spending time with his family, and traveling.
